A forehead lift can elevate the eyebrows to eliminate hooding of the upper eyelids and can also improve the deep wrinkling on the forehead. It does not remove the excess skin on the eyelids or improve the skin quality on the forehead. However, blepharoplasty and skin resurfacing can compliment forehead lifting. The result is a more youthful appearance with a more open-eyed look.
Several approaches are available for the forehead lift depending on the patient's
anatomy and hairline. The endoscopic approach is achieved through several small
incisions placed in the hairline through which cameras and instruments are placed.
The eyebrows are lifted and the muscle is treated to reduce wrinkling. Finally
small screws are placed to secure the lift in the scalp and the incisons are
closed. Alternatively, there are open approaches in which an incision is in the
hairline or behind it.
